Sam grew up in the UK covering gigs ranging from straight-up rock, through Scottish Kayleigh dances and Jazz club dates. As a sideman, he received local and national radio play and sessions including 33 Jazz records and Ninja Tune records. Relocating to Melbourne in 2004, Sam focussed composing utilising his primary interests; pushing instrumental technique and the possibilities of emerging digital technologies. Post grad study at the VCA lead Sam to settle on the real-time audio synthesis environment SuperCollider as his main development platform for electro-acoustic interaction and improvisation. He has released music on the Downstream and New Weird Australia labels and composed for theatre (Melbourne Fringe, St Kilda Festival).
